Dark Heart

If the earth is the base centre and cosmos the crown then humanity is the heart and it is exquisitely dark. The heart is the converging point between the two singularities of base and crown, it is the connective tissue between all life, all kingdoms (plant, animal, vegetable, mineral). Through the portal of the heart we can experience a deep merging with every living being on the planet and beyond, here we enter the ONEness of dark love.

The heart has a powerful capacity to transmit dark light by opening all the way to the core, this requires a dissolving of anything shielding the heart, a beautifully painful surrender. The dark that flows from the core of the heart is the original source of love before the light of individuation flickered, before the object and subject, the you and me. This energy is seeking to love itself in everything; every leaf, every drop of water, animal, human; it is always seeking unity.

Humanity is at a critical time as the illusion of separation, our fiercely guarded individuality is leading us into self-destruction. Amnesia has obscured our innate knowing that within the heart of humanity, we share the same dark core, we are the same ONE. When in touch with our dark core we can recognise the same ONEness in others, our hearts respond to the ocean living inside the drop of individual form. The remembering of ONEness is not just with humans but with the dark core of all living things, we are reunited with existence.

If we give our consent to dark love it will strip away all forms of relating that are built upon foundations of separateness, it unshackles love entrapped in structures of preservation and control. It can shatter ‘ideas’ of how and who we love, our desires, preferences and romantic notions. It also exposes the true gift of our shared humanity; our feeling nature. When the core of the heart is opened dark love can roar through us as the ONE expression of life; Joy, rage, grief, terror, exhilaration, feelings emerge as pure energy not yet encased in outer stories or external circumstance. The expressions of feeling from the dark are ecstatic, from the source of life itself passing through our hearts, vibrating into the world as aliveness.

When the dark core of our hearts open we are gifted a sublime experience of ‘falling through’ the core of another heart, galaxies merging into the singularity of ONEness together. This is the deep rest in love that we long for but rarely find as it requires the dissolving of a separate ‘I’ and ‘you’, there is no outer projection of a partner, lover or friend. There is nothing to hold and no-one to be, nothing else exists except love. The experience of dark cores merging through the heart is boundless, resting beyond space and time, preceding any encasings of ‘human’.

An awakened dark heart in one person can open this portal in another as dark love is always seeking itself. We can accelerate this process by consciously opening our heart, connecting to the love of ONEness and allowing the dark to penetrate life, flowing into situations, people and places. This process is effortless but requires the vulnerability to remain open despite any instincts to protect, it demands the surrender of any safekeeping. An open heart means everything we feel has to be flowed through our core without interference, without judgement, shame or minimisation. We have to trust that our feeling state is pure in it’s essence and resist the classification of feelings (good/bad) which encase the energy into form. Dark love integrates forms within the formless.

The gift of being human

Humanity is gifted with the ability to consciously love through the dark, if this energy was a body we would be the arms. The power of our awareness means we are able to direct this energy anywhere and unlike light, the dark can penetrate instantly, beyond the limitations of time and space reality. We can become heart vessels for this energy to reach all kingdoms on our planet and beyond, bridges of dark love. Accessing the dark through our base is similar to activating a battery or power pack for which the energy naturally moves up to the heart extending into the world. The core of the heart is our means to merge with a mountain, animal, tree or river and the natural world longs for this energy, it longs for the embrace of the dark through humanity. We have the capacity to wash the source of love through every stone, leaf or flower, to accelerate healing on the planet and unify the ONE web of life through the recognition of our shared darkness. What lives at the core of our hearts lives inside the core of every living thing on this planet, dark love is the reminder that together we are home.
